ICSE 10th Standard – Comment Statements in Java

Comment :

Comments are the non-executable statements in the source code. Comments enable us to write descriptive text alongside our code. These help the unknown users in reading and understanding the code in future.

Java allows two types of comments namely :

Single Line Comment.

Example :
// Single Line Java Comment.
// Cannot be extended to the next Line.
// These comments begin with a double slash.

Multiple Line Comment.
Example :
/* Multiple Line Java Comment.
Can be extended to the next lines.
These comments begin with a slash and a star and have to be ended with a star and a slash. */
