Free Online TrueCaller - find Personal Details of unknown Contact Numbers

True Caller +Maven Scientists

Earlier when you used online tools to trace mobile numbers, those tools were not very effective, and you could get only few details like which telecom circle mobile number belongs to. When ever we get a call from unknown number, it’s a good idea to find the details of the number. Specially, when I see a list of missed calls from unknown numbers, instead of calling them back immediately, I try to find out who is the caller. One major benefit of this is, I could figure out the caller details, and if it’s a telemarketing call, I don’t need to call back.

Truecaller is one very popular service, which let you find the details of unknown mobile numbers. Best part is, Truecaller is also available online, and they have mobile apps for all popular mobile OS platform.

The name Truecaller comes from the app being able to show the True name of the Caller. The client is available for Android, BlackBerry OS, iOS, Series 40, Symbian, BlackBerry, and Windows Phone.

Working of TrueCaller Explained

Truecaller is a global phone directory application for smartphones and feature phones. It finds contact details globally given name or telephone number, and has an integrated caller ID service using Crowdsourcing to achieve call-blocking functionality and social media integration to keep the phonebook up-to-date with pictures and birthdays. Used basically for Name and Number lookup.

Features and functionality

The service is a global telephone directory that has caller ID, social media integration and call-blocking functionality. The application covertly uploads users' phone books and makes them part of its crowd-sourced database.

The service gains global coverage from its crowd-sourced data, which enables it to work even in countries such as the UK and India where public data is not available. The app is available in more than 100 countries worldwide.

Truecaller is available for Android, Apple iPhone, RIM BlackBerry, Nokia Symbian, Windows Phone 7, and Windows Mobile smartphones, Windows Phone 8.

On 18 September 2012 Techcrunch announced that Open Ocean Capital, a venture capital fund led by former MySQL and Nokia executives (including Michael Widenius, founder of MySQL), were investing US$1.3 million in Truecaller to push Truecaller’s global reach. Truecaller said that it intended to use the new funding to expand its footprint in "key markets"—specifically North America, Asia and the Middle East
